Vision 2020 Update

A $499,964 Vision 2020 technology grant has been awarded to Siebert Elementary by the Texas Education Agency. The grant will enable Siebert to immerse students and teachers at the 4th and 5th grade level by equipping them with a laptop computer. Additionally, extensive professional development for teachers on teaching in a 1:1 environment will also be included. Classrooms will also be equip with projectors, interactive boards, and student response systems. The grant is funded through NCLB Title II, Part D Enhancing Education Through Technology.
Background Information
Vision 2020 grants funded under NCLB Title II, Part D Enhancing
Education Through Technology will focus on the best practices from
earlier pilots implemented within the state of Texas educational
technology arena such as the Technology Immersion Pilot (TIP).
November - Teachers received Apple Laptops
December - Apple Teacher Training 2 days
January - Promethean Interactive Boards installed
February - Teachers and Administrators attended the TCEA Conference in Austin, Texas
March - Received 210 Apple laptops for next years 4th and 5th graders
